Our Victorian cemetery dates back to 1869. Originally called the Hammersmith Cemetery, it has over 80,00 burials. Many of the gravestones were buried or removed in the 1950s, leaving areas of grassland and woodland turning it into an green oasis for the enjoyment of the local community.
There are 6 listed monuments.
With many wild flowers, and over five hundred trees, Margravine Cemetery is home to many different species, including birds, bats, insects, squirrels and foxes. The Friends are proud to be responsible for its biodiversity.
